NIVEL

General information
NIVEL (The Netherlands Institute for Health Services Research) is an independent research institute, and was established in 1965 as the scientific office of the Dutch College of General Practitioners. Its legal form is a non-profit foundation. NIVEL has a double mission: to perform high-quality scientific research in the field of health services and to ensure that its research results are relevant for all relevant stakeholders in the field of health care. NIVEL has an ISO:9001 accreditation since 2000. NIVEL has both a national and international orientation, an increasing proportion of its project grants is from international organisations as the European Commission (both DG SanCo and FP7), and WHO. NIVEL has been a WHO Collaborating Centre for Primary Health Care since 1987 and has coordinated multiple EC funded projects within the previous Health programmes (e.g. PHAMEU and EURHOMAP) and FP7 programme (e.g. QUALICOPC and APRES).
